Description:This newly renovated apartment is located just off the well-known Rue du Cherche-Midi on a street that is just 1.5 blocks long. Thus although in the heart of the St. Germain neighborhood, this location feels like its own small, calm neighborhood. The French owners have recently renovated the property for their own use on visits to the City of Light, thus it is particularly attractive and comfortable. The building itself has a spacious internal courtyard through which one enters the attractive stairwell. The apartment door opens to reveal a pleasant entry hallway with double windows for good light. To the left is the living room/dining room. This attractive space has 2 sets of French windows with classic, wrought-iron balustrades that look down on the quiet street. In fact, several of the buildings across are only 2 stories high making the view feel somewhat open. The living room has wood floors, an oriental area rug, pale walls, built-in, illuminated shelves for display, and framed paintings. There is a comfortable sofa, three armchairs, an antique drop-leaf desk and a glass coffee table. With pale green curtains and upholstery in tones of beige, the room is very appealing. A dining table and 4 chairs are set in a separate area of this space. This room opens to the small kitchen which has double windows to the internal courtyard. It has been fully renovated in a contemporary style with beige cupboards, white counters, stainless steel accents and all new appliances. The bedroom and bath are reached by turning right from the entry hallway. The bedroom has a queen bed and faces the internal courtyard. Thus it is quiet. The room is white with one lavendar wall and matching lavender pillows and curtains. Here, too there are built in cupboards for display, an antique wooden dresser, and a unique headboard fashioned from antique wood doors, This room is very attractive. The closet for hanging is in the hall. The separate bathroom is also all newly redone with double rectangular sinks, rectangular lights, and a shower stall with glass door and even a rectangular "rain" shower head. The toilet is tucked to the side of the shower stall. The space between the end of the toilet and the shower wall is somewhat limited. The apartment can accommodate two adults and a child or small person as the living room sofa is a convertible. This is a very appealing apartment in a rather special corner of St. Germain. Location Information:Métro Montparnasse, Vaneau, or Rennes. Cross street is Rue du Cherche-Midi.Client Comments:"The location is perfect--close to everything and walking distance to good restaurants but away from the tourist hubbub. The apartment had everything we needed and was very comfortable. The bed was very comfortable, the kitchen is tiny but well-equipped, the shower exceeded all our expectations and the living area was comfortable."-Christina A., Los Angeles, CA "We especially likd the location, bathroom and new kitchen applicances. It ws also helpful to have internet access! The owners left us a bottle of champagne (for our honeymoon), which was very kind. We thought it was a rather spacious one-bedroom apartment."
