This part of the Pyrenées is absolutely beautiful. Lush rolling green meadows extend west to the Atlantic with its broad sandy beaches. To the east, the mountains rise. On the Atlantic coast Biarritz is a beautiful turn-of-the-century city with graceful mansions and a charming fishing port. Continuing down the coast St. Jean de Luz is a seaside town with a rich Basque flavor. To the north Bayonne, the regional capital has a cosmopolitan feeling. This is an area rich in the regional traditions with flavorful foods, tasty cheeses, fine chocolates and red peppers famous for their complex flavor. In the mountains one fan visit colorful villages with markets selling the traditional espadrilles. Sheep graze the verdant hillsides. There is much to see and do including easy trips into Spain to see the famous Guggenheim museum at Bilbao. A week is just a beginning to explore all the wonders of this area.

This lovely modern home is well placed to visit the mountains or the sea. It is on a beautiful garden with a solar heated pool to enjoy. The house has a large living/dining room which has doors to the pretty patio and also opens to a pleasant sun room. The kitchen is well equipped and has a table and chairs for meals.

A few steps leads up to the bedroom wing with 3 bedrooms. Two rooms each have a double bed; one room has a double and a single. There are 2 bathrooms: one has a shower only; the other has a bathtub with handshower and sink. There is one separate toilet and sink off the entry way. The owners live in a separate wing and will occasionally use the pool. They are helpful, but not at all intrusive.
