Description:

This lovely accommodation is set in beautiful countryside with pretty views. Yet is is very close to two very characteristic villages. Paradou is the location for the well known Bistro de Paradou with its superb regional cuisine. Maussane is valued for its olive oil, still produced by hand in the traditional manner. Maussane has an excellent selection of food stores and restaurants and even an outdoor market. Yet both villages are small and feel very local. From here you are very well situated to tour the region with Les Baux, Arles and St. Rémy all a short drive away. In fact, the list of things to see and do within a 15 minutes drive is impressive. In summer, French-style bullfights and the accompanying local activities take place in many surrounding villages. This is a wonderful location

This farmhouse was originally a barn owned by the owner's father who was a shepherd. And the owner still has a flock of sheep which is occasionally seen grazing in the distance! The barn has been converted with great taste and at the its end is this lovely accomodation. With doors to a front and back patio, it has pretty country views. It is decorated simply but in great taste and has lots of charm.

The accommdation has an open feeling as the living room has glass doors which open on a shaded terrace in the front. The living room/dining room has comfortable seating, a pretty wooden dining table and a massive stone fireplace. There are two bedrooms, one on either side of the kitchen--a typical farmhouse floorplan. One bedroom has a queen bed. The other bedroom has three single beds. The bathroom is off the living room and has a stall shower and sink with a separate toilet with sink. This gives a bit of extra flexibility. The kitchen has a door that opens onto the other terrace, which is open to the sun. It, too, is brand new and well equipped. There are some low archways between rooms. The outdoor areas are quite pretty with seating in both sun and shade and with some views into open country. The accommodation offers the best of two worlds: a country setting and easy access to two terrific villages.

The owners live at the other end of the structure, but respect the client's privacy and can be helpful if needed.

Client Comments:

"Beautiful, very well-furnished and equipped. It was like being at home. I really appreciated all the little touches the owner put into the house to ensure a comfortable stay."
-Genevieve B. Toronto, ONT

"We loved the physical beauty, the privacy, comfort with all amenities and--like most people, I imagine, the wonderful warmth, intelligence and joie de vivre of the owners."
-Lloyd A., Los Angeles, CA

"We had a great time. Central location, quiet, the architecture, the poultry, but most of all the owners. She had our daughters helping her turn the goose eggs in the incubator twice a day!"
-Greg C., Essex, MA
