Description:

The village of Paradou is highly sought after as a central location in the Bouches du Rhône.

It's close to Les Baux a famous village perché. It's also just 20 minutes to Arles and St. Rémy. Peter Mayle made the area famous by complimenting the Bistro de Paradou for its wonderful meals and the olive oil cooperative in nearby Maussane for its olive oil. This charming house is owned by a local hotelier from the nearby village. It is set by itself with lovely views of the rolling countryside and the Alpilles, yet is close to the center of Paradou. There is one other cottage on the grounds, but it is near the pool and they are rather separate.

The simple exterior hides a charming decor: a living room/dining room with exposed beams, open fireplace, lace curtains and comfortable furniture with provencal decorative touches. The sofa is also a convertible bed. French doors open to the grounds with a play set for children. In fact this makes an ideal house for a small family. There is a separate kitchen. There are two bedrooms, both with two singles together. There is one bathroom with stall shower, sink and toilet.

Location Information:

2km Paradou, grocery, bakery, post office. 4km Maussane & 11km St. Remy, most facilities. Click here to learn more about the attractions of: Provence

Client Comments:

The setting was truly spectacular. Very private-surrounded by olive groves and rocky hills with marvelous vistas. We could hike up the hills in our 'back yard' and explore 3 old tower ruins. The house had bicycles which we rode on a two-mile loop through fields of sunflowers, lavender, hay and vineyards.
