Description:

Gordes is a famous perched village classified as one of the prettiest in France. Les Imberts, a tiny hamlet below it, was originally an abbey, and this house was one of the priests' residences. The church still exists and its bell tones the hour. This is an ideal location for touring. It's the beginning of the Luberon Valley with its many charming villages made famous recently by Peter Mayle in A Year in Provence. Being at the western end of the valley, it's an easy drive north to the famous Côtes du Rhône villages or south to Les Baux and Arles. This is a terrific location.

Staying in Les Imbert will make you feel like you have gone back in time, but with all modern conveniences! As this pretty village house has been the vacation home of its American owners, it provides a very comfortable accommodation. It was renovated retaining original architectural features including the classic stairway with curving bannister and tile steps--all well preserved. It is the corner building and has attractive artwork, comfortable seating, select antiques, good lighting and all necessary amenities.

On the ground floor is the sitting room with windows on two sides, exposed beams, comfortable seating and a wood burning stove. The fully built-in kitchen is very well-equipped. It is separated by a bar from the dining area which has seating for 6. It has white cupboards, exposed beams and a ceiling fan.

All the bedrooms are spacious and bright with excellent reading lights, armchairs and each has an ensuite bathroom. On the second floor are 2 bedrooms each with a king bed. One room has an ensuite bathroom with bathtub, shower over, sink and toilet. The other has French windows to a small balcony looking out on the village and its plane tree. This is a classic scene! Its ensuite bathroom has a shower, sink and toilet. On the top floor is a room with 2 twin beds, (can be side by side) and an ensuite shower, sink and toilet. Across the hall is a large atelier, good for writing letters, reading or playing table games. This is a wonderful house for folks who want to feel like they are living in a village.
