Le Barroux is a tiny village perched on a hill in the Vaucluse area of Provence. It's known for its formidable chateau built in the 12th century which dominates the skyline. This hillside village house was originally a house with a stable and a pigeonnier on top. It is now fully converted into a three-story beautiful and even elegant home.

The entrance opens to a spacious room with open stone fireplace an ideal space to retreat from summer heat or to relax on cool evenings before the fire. The dining table is set in front of the fireplace. There is an excellent kitchen. Across the hall is the laundry with guest toilet and sink. A stairway leads upstairs.

The main bedroom with king bed is at the front of the house and has a spectacular view of Mt. Ventoux, the countryside and the village of Le Barroux. On the other side of the landing is another bedroom with a king bed, the original exposed stone wall and its own sitting area. Both bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms, each with a shower, sink and toilet.

On the third floor is the living room which is quite pretty with exposed beams, ceiling fan and access to the terrace. The terrace is lovely with dining table and chairs, 2 chaise lounges for enjoying the sun and a breathtaking view. Off the living room is a second kitchen and the entrance to the upper/rear street. At this level is a third bedroom with king bed and its ensuite bathroom with bathtub, shower stall, sink and toilet.

A stairway in the living room leads up to the pigeonnier(the former pigeon loft), now an enclosed sun room with extensive views of the village rooftops and the chateau above. This is a beautiful and very creative renovation. It will make for a memorable stay in Provence.

"This medieval Vaucluse home is the real thing: nestled in the shadow of the town's chateau on a miniscule street with its doorway framed by roses, the house is beautifully appointed with artwork and all imaginable amenities. It is perfectly location for exploring the Mt. Ventoux area, the Vaucluse mountains and the Luberon beyond - either by car or paths on foot."
