Situated in the same building as our other Palais Royal apartments this apartment has a great location. The Palais Royal was built in the 18th century with the formal gardens added a century later. It was Cardinal Richelieu's palace, and many of the buildings that surround and enclose the gardens are now privately owned as is this one. The apartment faces the gardens on one side and the street on the other. It is, indeed, an official part of the history of Paris. A central location, it is a short walk to the Louvre and the Seine beyond. Just around the corner is a wonderful selection of elegant shops. Rue Montpensier is a very narrow and quiet street with several restaurants, a few food shops and many antique shops that are fun to visit.

This charming apartment is on the 2nd floor with elevator and features low ceilings and arched floor-to-ceiling windows, an architectural element particular to the Palais Royal buildings. This combination of details makes for a very welcoming and intimate ambiance.

The apartment has been totally renovated to provide a high degree of comfort as with all the other apartments we offer at this location. One enters the cozy living room/dining room which has wall to wall carpeting, fireplace and built-in bookcases. It is prettily decorated with two comfortable sofas which can be used as single beds for children, and a round dining room table and chairs. A long hallway with windows to the gardens leads to the first bedroom which has a king bed and ensuite bathroom with a walk-in shower, sink and toilet. This bathroom is equipped for handicapped. Off the living room is the second bedroom with queen bed and bathroom with shower stall with glass door, sink and toilet.

The kitchen is off the dining area and is very well equipped. There is a marble table and two chairs and a "back" door to the entrance hallway. A pleasant feature.
