Known as the Emerald Coast, this is a spectacular area with lots to see and do nearby. Dinard itself is a lovely French resort in a magnificent setting on the estuary of a river across from St. Malo. It has large homes with lush gardens. St. Malo, just across, although destroyed in WWII is now a fully restored "old city" surrounded by ramparts. It is beautiful and has a broad sandy beach. In 1534, Jacques Cartier left here and discovered Canada. Thus there is a history of ship building and sea exploration in this area. It's a short drive to Le Mont St. Michel one of the most famous sites in France. Locally, the beaches are sandy and beautiful. The cuisine is wonderful with emphasis on seafood and the use of exotic spices discovered hundreds of years ago. All in all, this is an exciting region to visit.

Set in extensive grounds, this wonderful manor house has been restored and furnished with taste and character. A beautiful sloping garden in the back has steep steps leading down to the beach. Or there is another beach 5 minutes. On the other side of the house is a large lawn shaded by trees.

The rooms are spacious and welcoming. The ground floor has a large living room with fireplace with a particularly stunning view from its bay window. The kitchen is fully renovated with a table for casual meals for 10. The dining room has two tables each with seating for 8. There is a cozy TV room with fireplace and a "winter garden" or sun room. There is a toilet on this floor. On the second floor there are 4 bedrooms. The master is a very spacious room with a double 4-poster bed, a seating area and a bay window with a fabulous view. There is a twin with a sink and sea view; a room with a small double bed and a small single bed, a sink and sea view; and a room with a single bed and sink. There are two bathrooms, each with a bathtub, hand shower, sink and separate toilet. One of the bathrooms has a large sunken tub with a beautiful sea mosiac on the wall.

On the 3rd floor are 5 more bedrooms. One has 2 small singles and a sink. One has 2 singles. One has a double bed and sink. One has a single with a sink. And one has a small single bed. There is a bathroom with bathtub and sink. And there is a room with a shower and sink. There is a separate toilet on this floor. All told, this is a wonderful house in a terrific area.

The view was unbelievable! Very quiet setting(one owl). Grounds would be gorgeous in summer. Comfortable furniture, roomy bedrooms. Kitchen could cook for a small army! Lots of hot water. Good restaurants in the village. One small and one big market within 5 minutes.

Views were sort of incredible. Close to Dinard and St. Malo, terrific towns with many excellent restaurants and shopping. The market in Dinard is wonderful! The house was very spacious, could easily accomodate more people. Close to city center. Furnishings very nice. Lots of kitchen equipment.
