 Another Wonderful Tuscan Door

I love seeing beautiful entryways in Italy and France. As I hike through the countryside, I pass so many old stone houses with absolutely delightful doorways. Italians in particular love having a flowerpot by the entry, a flowering vine encircling the portal or a carving on the top lintel. Even the simplest farmhouse can offer the passerby a beautiful image.
Fortunately, my hiking has been in the spring and so often I am welcomed with vines ablaze with color.
And yet even when nothing is in bloom, the stone walls, the ancient wood doors and the ceramic pots frame an entryway making for a warm welcome for those who enter or a charming image for those-- like me -- who pass by, trekking through.
