Ville et Village is a small company specializing in holiday rentals in France and Italy. We represent over 1500 individually owned farmhouses, cottages, mills, villas, manor houses and chateaux. France has our most extensive listings. Rentals are in most regions with the largest selections in Provence, the Dordogne, the Riveria, Paris and the Loire Valley. Most are in beautiful country settings or in or near small villages. In Italy, the largest selections are in Tuscany and Umbria, but there are also listings in the Amalfi Coast, the Lake Region and some select cities. We also have listings in Spain and Portugal.

The company was founded in 1992 by Carolyn Grote. With a Masters Degree in French Literature and a Master of Business Administration, Carolyn has used her extensive knowledge of France and her marketing expertise to create an agency that focuses on helping clients find just the right country rental for their holiday in France or Italy. The business grew out of Carolyn's love for France and her personal experience in travelling with her family. She had lived in France when single, but visiting France for a short time with a family was different. Could she have the same wonderful experience?

Yes! Renting turned out to the best way for her and her family to enjoy their stay and feel like they were living in France. She felt less like a tourist and more at home in France. But, in 1990, finding a good, reliable and charming place was a challenge. That's why Carolyn started Ville et Village. Each year Carolyn and her staff travel to France and Italy selecting and inspecting rental homes. Ville et Village now offers charming and comfortable holiday rentals that let clients experience authentic European living.
